Using Purepage Server
Purepage Server can be setup in a matter of minutes and configured to publish
documents for your entire network. This is accomplished through the concept of
drop-boxes (folders on your network setup specifically for users to drop their
documents in for publishing).
As an administrator, you will need to tell Purepage Server where to look for new
documents this could be a set of local or network folders. Once a new document is
found, Purepage Server will attempt to render it into HTML by using the conversion
options that you can easily set or change. Once an HTML rendition is available, you
have the option of calling scripts to perform custom actions with the new and/or
original documents. For example, you may want to notify someone their document
was published, email the HTML rendition or submit both documents for workflow
approval.
Once you have configured Purepage Server, you can minimize it and leave it running
in the task-tray.
Starting Purepage Server
To start using Purepage Server, double click the Purepage Server icon placed on
your desktop during installation. After dismissing the trial or splash screens,
Purepage Servers main screen will be displayed. At any point you can minimize
Purepage Server to the task-tray by pressing the Done button. To show Purepage
Server again, select Open Purepage Server from the task-tray popup menu.
Creating and Controlling Drop-Boxes
To recap, drop-boxes are the folders on your local system or network that Purepage
Server will scan for new documents to render into HTML.
All drop-box administration is performed from the main screen:
