Installation
To install the Purepage Server software, follow these simple steps (IMPORTANT:
Make sure the path you select to install Purepage Server to is no longer than 200
characters long):
1.
Ensure your system meets the minimum system requirements. See the System
Requirements section below for more information.
2.
Make sure you have read, understood and agreed to the license agreement
contained within this document.
3.
Download the latest Purepage Server software installer from our web site
which can be found at: http://www.purepage.com
4.
Run the installer you have just downloaded. Note: If you are running
Windows NT or Windows 2000, you will need to be logged in with
Administrator privileges to run the installer.
5.
Once the installer has finished running it is very important to reboot your
system before using Purepage Server in any way.
6.
Install any additional viewing/printing software for the file types you would
like Purepage Server to render. See the section below for detailed
instructions.
Installing Viewing and Printing Software
To render any file into HTML, Purepage Server requires that you install software
capable of viewing and printing that particular file format. For example, to render
Microsoft Word documents into HTML you should install the full version of
Microsoft Word (MS Word viewer will not work).
Enhanced Microsoft Word Rendering
Purepage Server supports enhanced functionality when rendering Microsoft Word
documents including hyperlink extraction, table of contents extraction and bookmark
support. These features can cause the rendering process to take significantly longer
for MS Word documents. If you wish to disable this feature, simply uncheck the “Use
MS Office Advanced Mode” option.
IMPORTANT: If you are using Microsoft Word 2000 and you have Norton AntiVirus
installed, you must disable Norton’s Office document scanning capability for Word
2000. See the following Microsoft article for more details
System Requirements
The system requirements listed below are for the minimum configuration required to
install and run Purepage Server. You will achieve significantly better results if you
have more RAM, a faster processor and more free hard disk space.
i486 or Pentium processor based personal computer (Pentium recommended).
