4.0 User Guide
In addition, for Purepage Server 4.0, you can now nominate an application to be
responsible for printing your files. By default, the originating application will be
File Type Support section below.
Enhanced Microsoft Word Rendering
Purepage Server supports enhanced functionality when rendering Microsoft Word
documents including hyperlink extraction, table of contents extraction and bookmark
support.  These features can cause the rendering process to take significantly longer
for MS Word documents.  If you wish to disable this feature, simply uncheck the “Use
MS Office Advanced Mode” option.
System Requirements
The system requirements listed below are for the minimum configuration required to
install and run Purepage Server.  You will achieve significantly better results if you
have more RAM, a faster processor and more available free hard disk space.
i486 or Pentium processor based personal computer (Pentium recommended).
Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 6 or later), Windows 2000, Windows XP or
later.
Minimum of 64MB of RAM on Windows NT, 2000 and XP.  Increasing the
amount of memory will increase the performance of Purepage Server.
Available LPT1 port.
At least 250MB available hard disk space.  Significantly more hard disk space
is required if you are publishing large files or if you are publishing multiple
files at once.
Applications installed that are capable of printing the document formats you
wish Purepage Server to render into HTML.  See the Configuring File Type
Support section of this guide for further details.
Un-Installing Purepage Server
Un-installing Purepage Server is a simple process.  NOTE: If you may want to re-
install Purepage Server at a future date, we strongly recommend you do not remove
the “Purepage” printer as this could lead to problems during re-installation.
Step 1 Run the Purepage Server un-installer.  (Start->Settings->Control Panel-
>Add/Remove Programs).
Step 2 Remove the printer.  WARNING: If you re-install Purepage Server at a
future date, we strongly recommend you do not remove the “Purepage” printer as
IMPORTANT: If you are using Microsoft Word 2000 and you have Norton AntiVirus installed, you
must disable Norton’s Office document scanning capability for Word 2000.  See the following
