providing print capabilities for a large number of file types without installing native
file viewers for every file type. QuickView handles over 200 file types. Additionally,

Why Documents Fail to Publish or Print
When documents fail to publish or print, an error or informational message will be
added to the Sites Log. To view the Log, select the Site from the Publishing Status
list in Purepage Today or click on "View Site Log" from the Action pane when the
Site is selected in the Tree.
When a file fails to publish you need to determine whether it is a printing issue or a
rendering issue. Reasons a file may fail to render into HTML are discussed in chapter
8 called Trouble Shooting and Logging. Some common reasons that a file may fail
to print are discussed below:
No file type configured - each file type that Purepage Server is to to print and publish
for more details.
No application installed or corrupt installation - an application that can print the
specified file type must be installed. This can either be the native application (such as
Microsoft Word for Word documents) or a third party application capable of printing
TIP: If you want to preserve hyperlinks and other advanced features of your Microsoft Word
documents, we recommend you also install Microsoft Office and use it to print all Office
documents.
IMPORTANT: When using QuickView Plus, the system default printer must be set to the
Purepage printer.
